Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Congratulations to Antwon who Completed the Aboriginal Apprenticeship Readiness Program this term.
The TAFE EmPower Aboriginal Apprenticeship intensive pre-apprenticeship course prepares Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for careers in the electrotechnology industry by providing essential literacy, numeracy, and electrical skills, along with cultural mentoring and direct pathways into apprenticeships with major employers.
The program, a collaboration between TAFE NSW, NECA, and various employers, builds confidence and equips participants with the practical experience and cultural support needed to become job-ready electricians.
The Program offers skills training, cultural mentoring, industry connections, confidence building and work experience.
Waves of Wellness
Our students recently took part in a six-week Waves of Wellness program at Bondi Beach, combining surf therapy with practical mental health education. Through learning to surf, building resilience, and practicing mindfulness in the ocean environment, students gained valuable tools to support their wellbeing while enjoying the benefits of physical activity and connection with others
Art Program
This semester, our students have thrived in a vibrant art program that celebrates culture and creativity. They proudly collaborated on an Aboriginal mural, gaining insight into storytelling through art, while also exploring their own unique ideas in personal projects. Their artworks reflect both a shared cultural journey and the individuality of each student’s creative voice.
Congratulations, Chace!
This term, Chace has shown outstanding commitment by earning our Attendance Prize! Turning up every day, ready to learn, isn't always easy — but Chace made it a priority this term. This kind of consistency sets the foundation for success both in and out of the classroom. Well done, Chace — keep up the fantastic effort!
Well done, Steven!
Steven has successfully completed the first of his two work experience placements for the year, spending the week in the fast-paced environment of a busy hotel kitchen. Taking on the demands of a professional kitchen isn't easy — the pace, the pressure, and the teamwork all require real commitment, and Steven stepped up. This is a fantastic start to his work experience journey, and we're looking forward to seeing him build on this experience in his next placement. Well done, Steven!
"This school offered me a range of resources and assistance that made it easier to succeed in the classroom. The staff took the time to explain things clearly and help me work through challenges, which helped me achieve my learning goals."- Edgeware Student
